Why do my legs feel so tired?

There are very few things that are worse than feeling life your legs are always tired. Many people suffer from and report having tired leg syndrome in the United States. Did you know there are many reasons for having tired legs? You may be surprised to learn all of the different reasons behind tired legs.

Many people report having tired legs because they have restless leg syndrome. People with tired leg syndrome constantly have wiggling legs. Laying in bed is one of the worst times for people with restless leg syndrome. You can lay in bed at night and have your legs continue to jitter throughout the night and keep you from ever getting a good night’s rest.

Another reason you may be suffering from tired legs is from your varicose veins. You likely have not put together that the veins in your legs are what are making your legs feel so tired. There are many reasons behind why varicose veins contribute to having tired legs.

Varicose Veins and Tired Legs

Varicose veins are bulging veins that are seen on many people’s legs. Varicose veins happen to be genetic and many people whose mother or fathers suffered from varicose veins are likely to also develop them later in their life.

Varicose veins are more than just a visually displeasing problem. While they can be very annoying visually for people, there are health side effects that also come with varicose veins. People often report having tired legs when they have varicose veins. This can be explained and there is a scientific reason for their tired legs.

Varicose veins are bulging twisted veins that are usually found in people’s calf muscles. The veins are loose and twisted and blood often pools inside of them. When blood starts to pool inside of the veins it is not transported through the veins in the manner it should be. When the blood does not flow properly the oxygen that the blood is carrying to different parts of the body does not get where it is going.

When the blood pools inside of the veins it becomes hard for the blood to flow like it should through your lower legs. People with varicose veins also have poor valves in their veins. The valves do not work as they should and keep the blood from entering and exiting.

When the oxygen does not get to its destination in your body you are going to start feeling tired. The oxygen gets trapped before it can circulate throughout the lower legs. A lack of oxygen will make people feel as though their legs are very tired, because they are tired.

If you have varicose veins and feel like your legs are tired there is a good chance that the oxygen that your blood is carrying is not flowing right. There are non-invasive surgeries that doctors can do to help alleviate the veins in your legs and get the oxygen flowing properly again and give you back the youthful legs that you once had and miss.
